This Fall, gamers from sixteen cities nationwide will return to theaters for a fourth incredible season of Minecraft City Champs. Players will battle it out on the big screen in four uniquely designed minigames to earn points for their city, win exclusive prizes, and become Season 4 City Champs!

Tournament Structure

Minecraft City Champs runs from October 27 to December 1 and is comprised of five in-theater events: a practice day, three days of divisional play, and the Grand Final. All events will take place on Saturdays, and players can check here for their local event times and venues.

On the October 27 practice day, players will gather in-theater to practice the four City Champs minigames with other Minecrafters in their city. Following practice, players will participate in team-building exercises and receive their official City Club jerseys. Players will also receive their City Champs playbook so they can begin to strategize with their teammates for the upcoming Divisional phase.

The Divisional phase takes place across three events held on November 3, November 10, and November 17. Every City Club will be broken down into a maximum of twelve teams, each made up of four to six randomly selected players. At each event, teams will compete in two matches against other cities within their division. The divisions are as follows:

  • Northeastern: Boston, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia
  • Southeastern: Atlanta, Miami, Tampa Bay, Washington D.C.
  • Central: Dallas, Denver, Houston, Phoenix
  • Western: Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle

Each match will consist of four minigames: Payload, Mayhem, Soccer, and Spider-Verse™ Domination, each with their own unique win conditions. Teams will earn one point for their City Club every time they win a minigame. Finally, at the end of a match, the City Club with the most points across all teams will be declared the winner of that match.

Following the Divisional phase, the City Club from each division with the most head-to-head wins will move on to the Grand Final, where they compete in a bracket-style tournament against the three winning City Clubs from the other divisions. Grand Final matches will adhere to the same format as Divisional matches. Teams will battle it out in four minigames per match, earning one point for each minigame they win. At the end of the first round of matches, two teams will move on to the final head-to-head matchup, where the team with the most points at the end of the four minigames will be declared Season 4 Minecraft City Champs!

All City Champs participants will have the chance to earn exclusive prizes, including Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse™ merch, Nickelodeon swag, and more! These will be given out in-person throughout the course of the season. In addition, every player from the season’s winning city (as well as one parent or guardian) will be awarded the Nickelodeon Victory Party! This victory celebration will take place at the winning City Club’s host theater, and will include a catered lunch, special Nickelodeon photo ops, and more.
